Heartland Day Camps

Each summer the church partners with Heartland Center in Parkville, Missouri, to host a weeklong day camp from around 9 am to 4 pm on the church campus for children in kindergarten through 6th grade. Fall & Spring Campouts

To build relationships and enjoy God’s creation, we hold all-church campouts twice a year at Watkins Woolen Mill State Park and Historic Site near Excelsior Springs, Missouri. The events start on Friday afternoons and conclude with worship on Sunday mornings. The 2025 campouts will be April 25 to 27 and October 10 to 12.

Mission Trips

The group takes a multigenerational service trip every other year. In 2024 it traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

• Faith Formation Trips: The Youth take weeklong faith-formation trips every other summer. In 2025 we will travel to Northeast Iowa for a week of backpacking, rock-climbing, and canoeing while we study our faith. This year’s theme is God’s Word Comes Near. 

• Each year we participate in many Service activities. We make and share meals with our houseless neighbors in Ilus Davis Park, have created “pick-me-up” baskets for people serving in the military overseas, hosted food drives, sponsored families for Christmas, and served God’s people in many other ways.

Adult Book Group & Adult Retreat Weekends

Mary Edwards leads discussions about books from a wide range of topics from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays in the library. All are welcome.

Offered every other year, these gatherings give us time away to rest, pray, and learn. Most recently we enjoyed Conception Abbey for our retreat. Click here to learn more about Conception Abbey.

Youth Group

Youth in 6th through 12th grades gather for fun, learning, and friendship from 5:30 to 7:00 pm Sundays in the Youth Room. 

• Dinner is provided. 

• Friends are welcome.

• The adult leaders are Nikki Cooley and Melissa Grovijohn. 

• Weekly information is shared on GroupMe.

Movie Discussion Sessions

A group watches a film and talks about it, all while enjoying snacks. Sometimes these are for all ages and other times for adults. We discuss how our faith interacts with the movie.

Nursery

The Nursery is available before and during worship services every Sunday morning for all children ages 4 and younger. It opens at 9 am and is located on the first floor of the Education Building.
